Finally: German Savings Banks Launch Website on the Financial Crisis
It’s about time: The German Association of Savings Banks (DSGV) is surfing the waves of the financial crisis with its own image campaign. After all, public sector institutions are en vogue again nowadays, and the Sparkassen (German public savings banks) in Germany have been largely immune to the effects of the turbulent capital markets yet.
The website www.gutfuerdeutschland.de gives citizens an opportunity to ask their questions on the crisis, investment choices and state banks. It also provides news on the current situation, and visitors can subscribe to a newsletter. Print ads in major daily newspapers advertise the website. The campaign’s message is: You can rely on Sparkasse banks.
All in all, that’s not particularly spectacular, and could certainly be improved on, but it meets customer’s information needs. At last.
